The USA had four of the final 16 mens singles players in the US Open… this is huge! Mardy Fish is seeded 8th and plays 11th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the fourth round. Andy Roddick is playing his best tennis in a while and faces David Ferrer in the fourth round. Donald Young is playing his best tennis ever and plays the winner of Andy Murray vs Feliciano Lopez.

Here are my US Open predictions:

• Federer wins it all.
• Fish makes a deep run.
• The Bryan brothers dominate but get no tv time because people don’t realize how much fun doubles is to watch.
• Both Williams sisters reach the semis and one wins it all… but their outfits get more attention than their play does.

So counting men’s and women’s singles and doubles, that makes 8 finalists. But I didn’t really care who the Williams played in the doubles final, so before the tourney started I picked the 7 finalists I wanted and the only one I didn’t get was the men’s doubles team of James Blake and Mardy Fish. I was hoping for an All-American doubles final against the Bryan Brothers.
